Melaleuca Employees and Their Families Come Together in Celebration

Thousands of Melaleuca team members and their families gathered outside Melaleuca Global Headquarters for an afternoon of enjoyment at the company’s annual family picnic. One of the most anticipated events of the year, the Melaleuca Family Picnic is a celebration of the company’s success and a thank-you to its outstanding team members.

This beloved tradition serves as a reward for Melaleuca’s dedicated workforce while simultaneously giving team members and their families the opportunity to interact with each other in a relaxed environment. At the picnic, team Members enjoyed the close-knit culture of the company.

Executive Chairman Frank VanderSloot believes that holding this event is a chance for Melaleuca to express appreciation to team Members and celebrate the company’s growth. “We want to say thank you to the people who provided everything we have here,” Frank said to all in attendance.

Melaleuca’s annual family picnic was full of fun, food, and friends.

This year’s picnic included horseback rides, mechanical bull riding, rock climbing walls, carnival rides, face painting, dozens of bounce houses, games, and other activities for all ages. Helicopter tours were given to over 100 team Members as a special way to thank them for their dedication.

Free for Melaleuca team Members and their families, the event resembled a county fair once all the large tents, bounce houses, inflatable toys, and activities were set up.

Friends and family gathered under large shade canopies to enjoy a delicious dinner, which included barbecue beef brisket sandwiches, pork, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, and ice cream. Unlimited cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn were also provided.

Melaleuca team Members were entered into a large prize drawing. Offering over 100 prizes, the drawing included spa packages, mountain bikes, tablets, Amazon Echos, sports equipment, camping gear, and kids’ toys. A few of the bigger grand prizes included resort vacations, big-screen TVs, and furniture packages.

One of the three grand prize winners, Michael Albaugh, who works as the Sales Aids and Logo Gear Category Manager and who has been at Melaleuca for 21 years, won a vacation getaway to Mexico.

“The Melaleuca Family Picnic is an event I look forward to every year,” Albaugh said. “To me the whole purpose of the picnic is to get everyone together in a family environment where you get to meet your coworkers’ families and interact with them outside of the office. The prize drawing is always a highlight of the event. It is exciting to cheer on individuals and celebrate their success when they win something.”

Another Melaleuca team member, Kody Christensen, a Machine Operator, said, “This event is a chance for the Melaleuca team to come together as a family to celebrate our hard work and dedication. I’ve worked here for three years now, and Melaleuca’s team mentality and commitment truly make this company one of the best in America to work for.”
