All of us have an ideal for ourselves—our concept of how good we could be, or perhaps how good we once were. But some of us have developed this idea that we’ll never truly reach that ideal, that we’re long past our prime. Even if that were true, and I don’t believe it is, it’s much too dangerous to believe. After all, it’s the striving toward that ideal that drives us to become better, even if we never quite achieve what we consider to be our best.
That’s a big part of our message to the world with Melaleuca. As George Eliot said, “It’s never too late to become what you might have been.” That’s our purpose. We’re here to tell people that they can indeed become what they want to become, physically, financially and personally. With Melaleuca as our tool, we can help people turn their potential into reality.
I want to mention one specific way you can do that next month: Come to Convention and bring a friend. Convention changes lives every year, and I’m not being trite when I say that. There’s no other event like it anywhere in the world, and in no other place will you find so many people who sincerely care about helping themselves and others to get better. And when you get that many like-minded people in the same place, something truly incredible happens.
You’ve probably heard the saying “a rising tide lifts all ships.” Well, that’s what Convention is like. All of us who attend that event have an uplifting experience at Convention every year.
Yes, there will be awesome entertainment. Yes, you’ll hear inspiring messages. And yes, you’ll have the opportunity to learn almost anything and everything about Melaleuca. But there’s more to the Convention experience than just that. There’s something about being there with us for this amazing event that you can’t adequately describe on paper. And that’s the part you need to be there to experience for yourself.
Maybe you feel like you’ve been around the block with Melaleuca already. Maybe you feel like you’ve heard it all before and that you already know everything there is to know. If that sounds like your situation, I want you to think about something Lionel Ritchie said the other day when he was a guest coach on the TV show “The Voice” (and I’m paraphrasing here): “I’ve been in the music industry for 40 years. And after that long, some might say you’ve learned everything you can learn about music. But when I hear and watch these young guys, I’m still learning.”
Don’t kid yourself: You can still be better than you are, and there’s still an opportunity for you to see something in Melaleuca you’ve never seen before.
Wherever you are, and whatever you’ve done or haven’t done with your life, we want you to be there with us at Convention in Salt Lake City in May. Hearts are healthier. Minds are clearer. Futures are brighter. In short, lives change here. So why not yours? Run, walk, drive or hitchhike. Just come. I won’t guarantee a specific result, but I will guarantee this: When you arrive in the Salt Palace Convention Center, you’ll find some of the best, most dedicated people in the world. And when you rub shoulders with them, you will be one step closer to achieving your ideal, to being the best you can be right now—that much I can promise.
