Melaleuca Team Members Have a Roaring Good Time on Zoo Day

You might not know this, but Idaho Falls hosts the “best little zoo in the West.” The Idaho Falls community is proud of this small but wonderful zoo, just one of the many family-friendly gems that makes the community stand out. And every summer, Melaleuca Team Members have the opportunity to attend the Idaho Falls Zoo together for free.

The Idaho Falls Zoo is home to African lions and penguins, flamingoes, a tiger, snow leopards, red pandas, lemurs, wallabies, and more. According to its website, the zoo sees roughly 145,000 visitors during its season. The Idaho Falls Zoo also hosts many events and even educational programs.

“My kids look forward to the Melaleuca zoo trip every year,” says Brett Morrison, a Marketing Senior Translator. “We’re big into watching animal documentaries, so it’s a real treat for them to experience what they see on screen in real life and up close. We’re very grateful to Melaleuca for the opportunity to visit east Idaho’s best zoo, with animals from all over the world.”

Other Melaleuca Events

A summer day at the zoo is just one of the many opportunities for Melaleuca Team Members and their families to get together. Melaleuca understands the importance of camaraderie and allowing employees the chance to have fun together, whether in or out of the workplace.

“We want our team members to be happy, work hard, have fun, and connect with each other as more than just work associates,” said Melaleuca VP of Human Resources Jamie Reynolds.

Summertime for Melaleuca also brings the annual Melaleuca Family Picnic, an enormous event held just outside Melaleuca Global Headquarters. With carnival games and activities, horse rides, helicopter rides, bounce houses, a raffle, and a smoked pig dinner, the family picnic nearly rivals a county fair.

Summer also means a free night of Chukars baseball at Melaleuca Field, a softball tournament, and a golf tournament called the MelaMasters. The fall brings an amazing Halloween event especially for children and grandchildren of Team Members, and the year ends strong with the Melaleuca Christmas party.
